Black and White Cookies

Posted by Ria, 06 Jul

Have you ever tried to explain why you date interracially to someone who is totally against interracial dating and even after all that effort, you still feel the nail didn’t hit the head… like it kind of slipped? What do you think of this one?

Find your soulmate on InterracialDatingCentral

black-white.gif"The thing about eating the Black and White cookie… is you want to get some black and some white in each bite. Nothing mixes better than vanilla and chocolate. And yet somehow racial harmony eludes us. If people would only look to the cookie all our problems would be solved." –Seinfeld

Much as interracial dating isn’t about black and white, we all know how that combo stirs so much hatred and curses and protests… I could go on and on… But what about chocolate chip cookies? What interracial combo do those signify?

Hey am looking for cookie symbolism for the following interracial combos: Latino/Black, Asian/White… amuse me guys. I'm more interested in Asian/White or Latino White. Good Luck.

Those cookies look really delicious. I wonder how they taste. Maybe vanilla flavored on one side and chocolate on the other. That sounds good.

I saw that episode of Seinfeld and it was very funny. Seinfeld was about Jewish American culture in New York City. Also, Larry David, the creator of Seinfeld has been known to date Black women and wrote a few episodes about the characters on Seinfeld dating black women. Also more recently, on Curb Your Enthusisam, Larry David dated black women and married Vivica Fox's character.

Wow...this post has been on going since 2007...wowzers. I wonder if that Saundra lady is still mad? wow...something or someone really pissed her off; all of that was NOT about cookies--unless someone stole hers, and discarded her afterwards. I've read rants and I've given rants, but dang, that was the rant of all rants...lol. Anywho...I like fresh-baked gooey, chewy pecan praline cookies...I have no clue as to what that symbolizes besides my massive sweet tooth.

Is that quote really from Seinfeld? Who never had any black main characters on his show? Too funny. I guess everyone is a philosopher when they don't actually have to live it or abide by what they preach.

All of my dating life; I've had to answer the question of 'Why do you date white men?' My answer is honest and straight forward. I date white men because I don't limit myself. I am open to dating within and out of my race. For whatever the reason my most serious relationships have been with non black men. I have a theory on this reason. However, I am new here and don't wish to ruffle feathers. I will type the white men I've successfully dated appreciated my arrogance, confidence and strong personality. I've been asked countless times do I have a preference for white men. I don't. The ones I've dated have a preference for me. LOL. As far as explaining, I know the diffence between a stone and a sponge. The the questioner is stone like I know they aren't going to absorb my answer so I make it simple, ' My life, my choice; I suggest you worry about your romantic life.' If the person is sponge like and has the ability to absorb my point of view; we can have an indepth conversation on my situation. Great site!

Saundra, I think Tami's right and living an upset life won't help you get happiness or dates, either. There are lots of caring, wonderful people, as well as some rotten apples. We can choose which we want to focus on and our lives will go in that direction. Listen to Ria - She often speaks eloquently on this subject. I wish you peace and happiness.

I just read this blog for the first time today, and all I have to ask is what has made Saundra so angry??? In my experience with racism (as a black woman), the only people in my life who were always complaining about and confronting the racism they experienced, were the ones who were always complaining about racism. Not to say that it doesn't exist, or that you shouldn't try to fight the injustices of the world, but when I read your posts, all I heard was anger...not an anti-racism protest, just anger. So the next time you find yourself so upset by the racial injustices in the black/white world, ask yourself "Self, why I am really so upset?"

As far as terms go, how you see yourself is often how you are percieved by others. VERY UNTRUE. The people of the town of Rosewood had self respect it was not their fault that a group of KKK members burnt their town down and murdered everyone. I respect myself, but it does not matter when you have vicious psychopaths that want to make you miserable because you are brown colored anyway. I am not responsible for why some stranger hates me because i'm black, i am not responsible for other people's emotions or actions. but then again this is probably an example of how a racist defends their crazy beliefs, blame the other person for why you hate them, ( black people make you hate them) crap like that, or just make up some excuse. right. I am telling the truth, telling it like it is, and i will always do so. because I, like millions of others are fed up with the abuse. You say i am hateful, because i am describing what actually happens in this world. Lying and ignoring problems IS the problem in this world and it only makes everything worse, be honest with yourselves. Unless you want the "whites only" signs to pop up again, and the stupid bus laws from the 50's. Take whatever action you can, like become an NAACP member like I did, whatever you can, unless you don't mind racism because you use it yourself for power and advantage.Fight for your rights.

Saundra While I respect anyones opinion, caps are for yelling, and make it much harder to read for some reason. Chill a bit and take please kill the caps. Yes, racism exists, no one ever said it was gone. Its dieing off slowly, one day at a time, one person at a time, one generation at a time. Comments are made and what is sometimes used as a slur is another time used to defuse a situation or in humor. It depends on the person using the word and the intent its used in. As far as terms go, how you see yourself is often how you are percieved by others. If your self esteem is in the toilet, black or white, your likely to be crapped on. On the other hand, if you walk in the room with self confidence and an air of authority, most folks will not only recognize your presence, but in many cases acknowledge you and treat you with respect automatically. Just listening to your post, it seems to me you have alot of hatred in your heart currently. Hatred is sick, black or white. Try mellowing out and doing a little soul searching, not everyone is out to get you darlin.

THIS SILLY SIMPLE-MINDED SYMBOLISM SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH SOMEONE HOLDS DEEP SEETHING HATRED FOR YOU. COMPARING YOU TO A COOKIE AND DIFFERENT FOOD FLAVORS, DEHUMANIZING AND OBJECTIFYING YOU. IF YOU HATE SOMEONE AND CONSIDER THEM LESS THAN HUMAN, JUST TURN THEM INTO A COOKIE. VERY SAD. MORE PROOF THAT RACISM STILL EXISTS FOR THE FOOLS THAT SAY IT DOES NOT, AND TELLS PEOPLE THAT THEY PLAY THE "RACE CARD". PEOPLE CLAIM THEY DONOT HATE ANYONE AND THEY TREAT EVERYONE FAIRLY AND WITH RESPECT, UTTER LIES. IF EVERYTHING IS A-OK WHY ARE PEOPLE SO SCARED AND SELF-EXPLANATORY WHEN THEY ARE ASKED IF THEY MADE LOVE TO SOMEONE WITH A DIFFERENT COLOUR THEN THEIR OWN? WHY THE STUPID JOKES AND LONG EXPLANATIONS? THAT MAKES ME FEEL SO WEIRD, LIKE WHY WOULD A PINK SKINNED PERSON BE EMBARASSED TO SAY THEY HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH ME? DO I HAVE THE PLAGUE? AM I A DEATH ADDER? THAT IS AN INSULT AND SENSELESS. THIS SHOWS US WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ONE EVIL PERSON WITH A THORN IN THEIR ASS CAN DO WHEN THEY DECIDE TO PICK A SCAPEGOAT FOR THE WORLD'S PROBLEMS AND SPREAD NASTY, HATEFUL, LIES ABOUT THE SCAPEGOAT THEY HAVE PICKED. IF I STARTED SAYING ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES AND IGNORANT, AND TELLING THE WHOLE WORLD, IT WOULD NOT HAVE AS MUCH POWER BECAUSE OF THAT ONE EVIL BEING, WHOEVER STARTED THIS CRAP LONG AGO, THE WHOLE WORLD AGREES THAT BLACK IS EVIL AND WHITE IS GOOD. BECAUSE OF THIS EVIL LONG AGO AND SOMEONE DECIDING TO SPREAD RUMORS I GET FOLLOWED AROUND IN THE STORE WHEN I'M SHOPPING AND MY BODY PARTS ARE CONSIDERED A MEAT MARKET FOR SELF-RESPECTING "WHITE MEN" LIES AND RUMORS ARE POWERFUL ARE'NT THEY? WHOEVER STARTED THIS THANK YOU FOR RUINING MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF ALL THE OTHER "SPOOKY" DISEASED BLACK PEOPLE. MUCH APPRECIATED! NICE WORK! WE HAVE COME SO FAR, WE ARE CALLING EACH OTHER COOKIES AND OTHER INANIMATE OBJECTS!

I was involved in an 'oreo' once. Let me explain... Military, 1990's, men, women, party time at the post headquarters. Two of my best guy friends and I head to the buffet for more food. MD reaches for one dish, I reach for another and CR reaches for the third. I made the comment of "look guys we just made an oreo". We laughed, cuz it was funny. Just the three of us.. right. Wrong! From the other side of the buffet comes the 'boss' yelling about how rude I was to make such a racial slur/slang. The three of us that it involved were not bothered by the remark so I really couldn't figure out why he was. I got in trouble..all the way to the top. Come to find out he didn't appreciate any one if you weren't caucasian. I don't know how he made it in the military family where we all are green! CR and I still laugh about his ignorance to this day some 15 years later. And I know this isn't really what you had in mind for a posting.. but I had to share the 'cookie' theme. Thanks.
