Dating in your prime

Posted by Ria, 14 Mar

Now this is what the dating scene is like today. Prime they call it. Here I am… Ria at 32 going on 18… ;) the years every woman dreads – the thirties. A pal of mine in a bid to make me feel better told me “Women are as sweet as wine in their 30s᾿ Wonder if he’ll tell me the same thing when am 40… or 50…. Ooops!!! Well I tend to believe that its true… the sweetness probably comes from maturity. As for men, life begins at 30. That is when they are mature and ready for commitment (Nothing against men in their twenties).

Find your soulmate on InterracialDatingCentral

At this prime age (30s and 40s) majority of the single people are either divorced, a few never been married and an even lesser number widowed. Finding yourself single in your thirties and not growing any younger aint something to right home about. All one can think of is the amount of time wasted when younger… the twenties.

After going through some crude divorce that leaves you almost bankrupt – in the case of men – its not easy to bounce right back on to the dating scene. And anyway, who said the dating world is some trampoline? And with the current divorce rate in the US (50%), one tends to wonder what the break up rate is. Given the statistics, most people tend to be afraid to love again… they tend not to put their hearts out there for some disappointments. So most of the divorced people while out in the dating field try as much as possible not to repeat the same mistakes they did when they were married. Most find themselves looking for flaws in these other relationships to avoid having to go through what they did… DRIVING SLOWLY!!!

Falling in love again is usually exciting… second time around. A second chance to love… who doesn’t want that? Well take time. You don’t want a rebound that leads you straight to your second divorce.

And for the single in their 30s and 40s and 50s  chances that you will date a divorced or widowed person are high… chances that they will toss you out of the window after a few dates… even higher. Well that shouldn’t be a stumbling block. This could be because they are trying to DRIVE SLOWLY.

All you have to remember is that it’s got nothing to do with you if you did right by them. You probably didn’t just hit it off. And for the divorced, leave the past where it should be… six feet under!!! Give yourself time to heal and hop on back the dating scene. Try online dating. You might get a kick out of it.

Love is all around… CELEBRATE IT!!!

What is even more difficult is if you're a man of 40 who has never been married and without kids. Its true, most women (all?) that you meet have alot of emotional and marriage "battle scars" that leave them emotionally unstable and quick to judge someone in a negative light who simply wanted a secure professional and financial life before getting married. I laugh about it and liken it to the housing / economic crisis: even if you make all the right decisions, there are always enough people around you that havent which ruins it for you anyway, so why not take a risk now and then?

Well I must say a broken heart does take time to heal, and when you are younger it seems harder to get over it. Im now pushing 50 and have learned many lessons in life. 1st,love youself and don't settle for just anything because you are lonely. Twice divorced and two wonderful children, 1 is 26 and another 16. I find myself loving life. I have 3 best friends I spend time with, a big loveable dog thats my best friend. There's always something to do. Im retired now from general moters and have time to travel, sleep in when I want, work out and take long walks, enjoy the sun set. I date when I feel like it. And most of the men I date are in their 30s or early 40s.The key is to keep yourself in shape. body, mind, and spirit. Have fun out there what ever you do. If i get married again, great! If not thats ok too.I make the most of each new day and most men find my confidence in my self and life very appealing. I have actually had more younger men because I don't seem so eager to find a mate, just a good relationship, some are friends ,some are more. I love the fact that as a single independent woman I can do what I want when I want. Plan on visiting my daughter in Florida this winter, might stay a month, might stay longer?Just get out there and enjoy life. Try something new.I just started belly dancing classes! Oldest one in the class, but its a blast and a great work out. Just have fun people, for tomorrow isn't promised to any of us!

Conservative Genius rescued after getting stuck naked in portable toilet 6/6/2008, 8:54 a.m. EDT The Associated Press LEBANON, Pa. (AP) — Rescue crews had to cut apart a portable toilet to rescue Conservative Genius who got stuck naked inside the potty. Authorities say late 20's Conservative Genius, of Lebanon, used her cell phone to call 911 on Sunday from inside a portable toilet. Police say Goddess had been drinking and had taken off her clothes. Somehow, she immersed herself in the holding tank. Deputy fire commissioner Ray Horvath told WPMT-TV, "I've been on the job in one form or fashion for 21 years, and this is the first port-a-potty rescue I've ever had." Police charged Goddess with public drunkenness and creating a health code violation, but they have no idea why she was in the toilet with her clothes off. They say she didn't suffer any serious injuries. PS - She needs to get a job.

If you have gotten out of your 20s without having your heart broken, you just haven't been trying. That's part of life. If you never skinned your knee as a child, you probably weren't having much fun. Falling in love should always be exciting. That's why it's called "falling". Free-fall of the heart risks going splat. But it is a resilient organ and will recover and is meant to take another leap. On the other hand, falling and getting caught is one of the most beautiful feelings in the world while it lasts. Sadly, like everything else, it always ends. My Mom and Dad were closing in on 57 years when my Dad went home. Think that doesn't still hurt? However refusing to get back on the roller coaster because the ride ends is no way to enjoy the amusement park, is it? CAUTION: The above statement refers only to a metaphorical heart. Please don't try it with your real one. It will leave a very non-metaphorical bruise.

Sour in our 40's and 50's? No. Smarter, not sour. We won't put up with the crap anymore. Men in their 50's who want to date women in their 20's simply haven't grown up. They have the emotional maturity of a 20 year old, the belly of a 50 year old, and the wallet of a sugar daddy. Girls who fall for this are taken for a ride. Women, real women, refuse to play along. Grow up, boys, before opportunity passes you by.

I agree that women are as sweet as wine in their 30s. 20's is not bad either. I am in my 50's and I only like women in their 20's and 30's. Some women start getting sour in their 40's and 50's.
