Do you feel you aint hot enough? Try hanging out with someone much hotter. According to this new research, dating someone who is hotter makes you more alluring; making potential mates find you more and more appealing.

This is also true for the ‘animal farm’. Apparently, animals tend to imitate the choice of others when it comes to matters of attraction. Much as female guppies preferred brightly colored males, they will still mate with dowdy ones if they see other females mating with them.

Below are some conclusions drawn from the study in the case of humans:

Scientists had 30 male and 30 female volunteers who all described themselves as straight rate how attractive they found photos of 36 men and 36 women. The volunteers were then shown 144 pictures of men and women paired together and asked how desirable they would find long-term relationships with members of the opposite sex in the pictures.

Both male and female volunteers rated people in the pictures as more desirable when they were paired next to attractive companions, the scientists found. By using cameras to track eye movements during the experiments, the researchers also saw that when volunteers spent more time looking at a potential mate's unattractive partner, they were less interested in that mate.

Despite the fact that they were only asked to evaluate the hotness of potential mates, the study group seemed to focus more on their partners instead. This however was more true for women than men. Men found hot women appealing regardless of the appearance of their mates. On the other hand, most women showed skepticism in hot men who were paired with less appealing mates.

Does the hotness of a potential mate’s companion affect your ability to access his or her attractiveness? If yes, is it a case of ‘hmm… if he/she finds him/her hot, then she/he must be’ or what?

Well, if you are single and all this is true, better find yourself a hot wing man or woman ;-)

    I think it depends on how big the gap between you and the person you are dating is as far as looks. Seal was handsome already and could easily stand alone in that department on his own. But I am no Seal. I was once engaged for five years to a white model that I met in school who was after me to prove a point. She wanted to prove that she was more than a hot piece of meat but the truth became evident as she cheated on me and left me for someone better looking when I went to do missionary work. Women have become more looks conscious then man which is why the are so easy to good looking guys who they sleep with and have illegitimate kids with and tax our welfare system and bring down the moral fiber of our country and set bad examples for other women that are young and starting out in relationships. And our divorce rate is skyrocketing through the roof. I see is more and more as I do Pastoral Counseling for premarital and marriage counseling. It is easy to see that they are going to get together for looks consciousness or gold digging. They are almost certain to end in divorce. And as to the model that I was engaged to, she got divorced twice and had kids from each marriage and now is with another divorced man who has a kid so she is on her third marriage with a ton of kids. So she did me a favor when she left me. I have no divorces or made any kids with anyone despite having the same thing happen five more times since then from women who claimed they were different but they weren't. And as far as making me look hotter, all I got was stares because they were all attractive and they all went after me to prove something about themselves and failed. They all cheated and left and showed their true colors. But the first one was the worst because I used to have people come up to me and say to my face, "What is such a beautiful woman doing with someone who looks like you?" They thought I either had a lot of money or a very large member. When they asked, my ex and I agreed upon telling them that that I had a very large member just to shut them up from them asking such shallow and insulting questions. So being with attractive women did never make me look better because the looks difference was too great and if that is the case, you will get nothing but hostile stares like you broke a law or something. That's why I have very little pity for women who get themselves into bad relationships because of their shallowness which is almost all the time. Give me a good Christlike woman with wisdom and intelligence any day of the week. Joseph Moyer

    Personally, I feel that Heidi is hotter with Seal. She seems sweet, but I don't see the same physical beauty or sexiness that others see in her.

    Does Heidi look hotter coz of Seal? Seems people are forgetting that question. My ex-fiance's hottness made me feel hot. That and the overall feeling of being wanted and loved.

    I agree with Ms. Sunsmiler and Ms. Natalie, Seal is A lister on his own. Love his smile and his spirit. He's confindent but not arrogant, another plus!!!! I heard he's a real gentlemen, which is one of the top qualities of a very sexy man, in my opinion, and the fact that he adores his wife, is even more sexy!! Good to see you Ms. Natalie, I'm digging the new picture. I can really see the bigeyes now(lol), and yes I'm still praying for you! Keep me in your prayers as well!     No Seal was absolutely hot before. I have his first hit album in the U.S, that contains a song called Crazy and been a fan ever since. He is very masculine but gentle and that is sexy.Strong with a poets spirit. Heidi is absolutely gorgeous and I adore her show Project Runway but Seal doesn't NEED her. Sorry Heidi,lol still love you girl!

    Personally, Seal does not look hotter with Heidi. He looks hot all by himself. Confidence and a nice physique exhibits sexiness which can compensate for any facial imperfections... in my humble opinion.
