#1. Little Italy
Talk about the perfect blend of romance and comedy. This movie is my favorite feel good movie of 2018 and guarantees you the most entertaining 102 minutes of your day. Starring top-notch actors such as Emma Roberts, Hayden Christensen, Alyssa Milano, Adam Ferrara, and Linda Kush, the movie is set the small Toronto district called ‘Little Italy.’ It features a young couple, Nikki and Leo, and follows their struggles to find their place in each other’s hearts amidst their families’ war over whose pizza is the best.
Directed by Donald Petrie, ‘Little Italy’ highlights the true meaning of friendship and how far love can get tested. Nikki and Leo had been childhood friends. Their families owned a pizza restaurant. They had a wonderful relationship until a feud ensued after a pizza competition prompting the young lovers to drift apart.
Nikki left the whole family drama for London to become a chef under the tutelage of Chef Corrine. She got a break to go home and “change her visa,” a trip which reconnected her with Leo and unavoidably rekindled old flames.
The story becomes more intriguing when their grandparents fell madly in love. To the surprise and disapproval of their sons, the grannies made efforts to end the unexplainable feud between their sons as well as encourage the romance between their grandchildren.
Amidst the feud and insecurities, true love prevailed. ‘Little Italy’ is indeed the best feel good movies of all time, and certainly, it has a place on the list of feel good movies of 2018.
#2. Precious
Talk about courage and determination, ‘Precious’ sure deserves a stop on this list of top 10 feel good movie of all time. Starring award-winning ‘Empire’ actress Gabourey Sidibe, ‘Precious' tell a tale of perseverance, courage, and steadfastness amidst adversities.
The 2009 movie (Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire), tells the tale of a 16-year-old struggling teenager Claireece "Precious" Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) who was impregnated for the second time by her abusive father Carl (Rodney "Bear" Jackson) and suffers constant physical, verbal and emotional abuse from her delusional mother Mary (Mo'Nique).
Through the struggles of rejection, she finds support and a friend in Ms. Rain, her class teacher, who makes efforts to direct her case to the proper authorities. With the aid of social welfare, and John McFadden, a nursing assistant, Precious is able to find her feet and grow above the hate she has experienced all her teenage years.
The story takes a twist when Precious discovers her abusive father died from AIDS and learns that she has been living with HIV. Luckily, her children don't have the disease.
Feeling dejected, Precious resolves to move away from her mother and find a future for her children.
#3. Bad Moms
Coming up third on the list of top 10 feel good movie is the 2016 Blockbuster, ‘Bad Moms.’ According to movie critic Matt Hudson, “If you want to watch a good-time movie and to have a giggle without having to think, Bad Moms will do the trick.” The American comic movie was directed by Scott Moore and Jon Lucas and stars award-winning actress Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Christina Applegate, Kathryn Hahn, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
‘Bad Moms’ earned a seat at the table of top feel good movies, thanks to its special perspective on parenting and motherhood.
The movie shows Amy (Mila Kunis) as an overworked, ready to snap and exhausted mom whose ever busy schedule is tearing her apart. Tired of her endless charade of chores, she joins forces with other fed-up moms at her children’s school (Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn). The moms get wild with fun and freedom, and soon other mothers seek to join the gang too.
Amy aspires to become the PTA President but is confronted by Gwendolyn who is determined to pull her down. Amy eventually wins the hearts of other mothers during the elections. Gwendolyn eventually gets along with Amy, and both women become friends. For mothers, ‘Bad Moms’ is certainly one of the best feel good movies of all time.
#4. The Notebook
You just got to love this movie. When it comes to romance, passion and unconditional love, Nicholas Sparks sure knows how to write a spellbinding masterpiece. If ‘The Notebook’ doesn’t make you feel-good and daydream about happy moments all day, then I doubt anything else will.
This is a story of a love that lasted a lifetime. Allison Hamilton, a 17-year old heiress, meets the love of her life Noah Calhoun, a poor quarry worker at a festival and the two instantly fall in love. Unfortunately, Allie’s mother Anne is blinded by social stratification and tries to tear the young lovers apart.
After several years, the young lovers reconnect, and love wins. Several years later the lovebirds now old in a nursing home, keep their love and memories alive through a notebook from which Noah reads to Allie who now suffers dementia. Both lovers eventually died together in each other’s arms.
#5. Paddington 2
If you have seen the first ‘Paddington’ movie, then I need not say much because the sequel is way better. After the initial release of Paddington in 2014, the movie gained so much admiration that a sequel followed suit in 2017. ‘Paddington 2’ captures the intrigue, comic vibrancy and action of the initial movie and it is undoubtedly one of the movies that make you feel good on any day.
In ‘Paddington 2’ our favorite furry friend ‘Paddington,’ takes on a totally different adventure. Paddington, now adopted by the Brown family, is as happy as ever and has become an unusually popular member of the community. Paddington hopes to purchase a pop-up book for his aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday. Unfortunately, the book is stolen, leaving Paddington stressed and in prison after being accused of stealing the book.
Paddington eventually breaks out of prison and catches the culprit. Even though he didn't recover the book, Paddington is happy to celebrate his aunt's 100th birthday after she paid him a surprise visit.
#6. Coco
Who didn’t cry out in sheer joy when Mama Coco eventually remembered her dead father Hector after Miguel had nearly lost all the hope she had? With the perfect blend of culture and family traditions in a Mexican setting, the 2017 animation won the best animation of the year, thanks to the collaboration of two animation giants Disney and Pixar.
Coco is inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead. It tells the story of a young boy who sought to pursue his dreams as a musician against his family’s wish. Miguel just like his great-great-grandfather, Hector, is a talented musician. Unfortunately, his grandmother, Mama Emelda, would not have that because according to her, Hector abandoned his family to pursue his dreams as a musician foolishly.
Having assumed a popular musician by name, Ernesto is his long lost great grandfather on the Día de Los Muertos day. Unfortunately, Miguel finds himself stuck on the other side of life after he tampers with Ernesto’s guitar. To get back to the land of the living, Miguel scales through several obstacles alongside his dead friend Hector, who eventually turns out to be his great-great-grandfather. Miguel succeeds in reconciling an age long feud between the living members of his family and the dead Hector. Coco is definitely among the top 10 feel good movies to watch.
#7 Endless Love
This is one of the best date night movies of all times. Love is a beautiful thing, and 'Endless Love' depicts what teenage love and romance is all about. It features actors/models, Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde, dishing out teenage romance at its best.
The movie shows a handsome poor teenager, David, falling madly in love with a rich, beautiful, but shy Jade Butterfield since junior year. He finally gets a shot with her when she invites him to her graduation. Although from a poor background and a valet at an upscale restaurant, David never saw himself as not-good-enough for Jade.
The young couple has a wild summer romance before Jade leaves for a medical internship. The wild ten-day romance uncovers other events such as the impact of her brother Chris’s death on the family and her father’s resentment for David. The young couple's love is tested, but in the end, true love prevails. I would certainly place 'Endless Love' in the list of feel good movies.
#8. The Last Song
This one is typically a Nicholas sparks movie as it is filled with love, emotions and a little pinch of sorrow. I like to think that this move goes beyond your everyday feel good movie because it actually brought together the infamous celebrity couple, Liam Harmsworth and Miley Cyrus. Although the director made a little adjustment to the initial story, the movie came out exceptionally wonderful.
The last song tells a story of love and faith thus earning it a position as one of the top feel good movies of all times. Although it leaves you with a feeling of sorrow brought on by Ronnie’s dad’s death, there’s that lingering feeling of satisfaction knowing Will has got her back.
Ronnie’s (Miley Cyrus) parents got divorced, an event which took a significant toll on the 17-year-old and her younger brother Jonah. Now living with their mother, Ronnie's relationship with her father deteriorates further because she blames him for the divorce. The once avid musician abandons her passion just to get back at her father. She is forced to visits their ailing father at a small beach town, where she reconnects with him in his dying days and finds the love of her life, Will.
#9. Nappily Ever After
Coming up 9th on the list is the 2018 American romantic comedy, “Nappily Ever After.” This is indeed a movie you would love to watch when bored at night. It sheds light on the true meaning of living a fulfilling life. The movie stars award-winning actors such as Sanaa Lathan, Ernie Hudson, Lyriq Bent, Lynn Whitfield, and Camille Guaty.
Violet (Sanaa Lathan) is successful perfectionist and has a boyfriend Clint (a doctor) every woman would dream of. Violet grew up with her mother having an unhealthy perception of perfection and an obsession with perfect hair. Even with all her perfect ways she couldn’t get Clint to propose on her birthday.

Following a misunderstanding between Will and her mother, the pair breaks up and somehow Violet reconciles with Clint. However, her new perception about perfection makes it hard for the relationship to prevail and sooner than later, they go their separate ways and she reunites with Will.
#10 Skyscraper
Set in the busy megacity of Hong Kong, Dwayne Johnson unleashes his raw action talent, tenacity and strong will as an ex-federal agent scaling through the hurdles of his first day at a new job and having to save his family.
Ex FBI agent Will Sawyer, took up the job to assess security for skyscrapers. While reviewing a 225-story skyscraper “The Pearl” in Hong Kong, he uncovers a plot on an attack on the building and its owner Zhao. Sawyer fights through the night to prove his innocence and save his family.
The movie is considered one of the best feel good movies of all time, because Sawyer, an amputee is able to overcome obstacles by using his disability to his advantage.
