Schwarzenegger scandal reeks of old interracial sex taboos?

interracial sex taboosOn one hand, we have a former International Monetary Fund leader, Dominique Strauss-Kahn who - according to accusations flying around – sexually assaulted an African-born hotel maid in New York. On the other hand: Arnold Schwarzenegger who recently came clean about having a child with his Latina housekeeper while still married to his wife.

These two stories involve powerful men… men who have had sex (interracial sex) with their maids. Don’t these two scenarios take us down memory lane to the history of interracial sex and slavery... powerful white men having sex with women who worked in their homes as slaves?

If the allegations against Strauss-Kahn’s are true, then his is a clear case of sexual exploitation. But was Schwarzenegger also taking advantage of his position as the boss or was it just a case of a “bossom buddy” who was also a housekeeper? Whichever way you look at it, the similarities between then and now (based on these two stories) especially from an inequality point of view are quite undeniable, don't you agree?

CORRECTION!! If the allegations against Strauss-Kahn are correct, it is a case of SEXUAL ASSAULT & BATTERY. Should he be found guilty, anything short of criminal prosecution would be a shameful travesty and the highest disrespect against all women. Illicit extramarital relationships are only romantic when it's in SOMEBODY ELSE'S BED! I dont know ANYBODY- BLACK, RED, BROWN, WHITE OR PAISLEY who welcomes that mess in their home. (Open relationships are preagreed arrangements--this was not "open") . Arnold & Mildred were "straight up" weak, unfaithful, selfish and dishonorable. There's nothing "romantic" about infidelity. AND when a child is born to that couple it's childish and insulting to that child to call him/her a "LOVE" child. The sad fact was that the parents only "loved" themselves and the kid is by-product of their selfishness and deceit. (Yes the child is loveable and loved and should ALWAYS BE ASSURED OF THIS. but you know that if the egg hadn't been fertilized, we'd not be in this scrambled mess!!) It's the kid for whom I feel the most sadness. Trust me that no matter how high the financial support is from Arnold, that kid missed out on many opportunities AND memories available to a Daddy governing the World's 7th or 8th largest Economy (California)!! And you can damsho know that he wasn't likely included at the Kennedy--Shriver compound for summers in Martha's Vineyard. Sheeeeshhhh!!!! This is a mess. It saddens me. However, I truly believe that REDEMPTION & RESTORATION & HEALING is available to all. No matter what color(s) infidelity is far from romantic. Many opportunities were lost, trust was destroyed, innocence was tarnished and shame is served up on too many plates! 'Rush

More than likely, if given the chance these powerful men might have married the women they bedded. But because of taboo's of certain cultures the relationships were left in the closet. Truly, love has no color, however racism does!

In Arnold's case, I wouldn't call it exploitation. I think they formed a relationship if she was there for 10 years before and 10 years afterwards. I can't accept exploitation excuses for this woman based on her race. With Mr. Strauss-Kahn...definitely.
