How would you describe yourself?
Dependent upon the context, most, if not all of these characteristics are both strengths and weaknesses. I am very independent, proud, instinctive, analytical, emotional, introverted, introspective, frank, intelligent, occasionally moody, simple, faithful, doubtful, straightforward, uncomplicated but not prosaic, not particularly divine if divinity is associated with the ability or willingness to forgive, undemanding of others, but very demanding of myself, agnostic, modest in character and aspirations, initially reticent, pragmatic, idealistic, very focused, scatterbrained, clueless but not gullible, personally conservative, politically and economically somewhere between liberal and progressive, distrusting, and boring.
Beyond attacking the heap of books on my kitchen table with a vengeance, listening to music, watching Dr. Who, Full Metal Alchemist, Durarara!!, Supernatural, American Dad and MSNBC evening programs, not to mention, alternately ruminating (as much about unimportant as important matters), meditating on loving-kindness and transcendental meditation, and daydreaming, I have no hobbies.
Among my favorites (1) in terms of films: The Age of Innocence, The Color of Purple, The Lion in Winter, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Memento, Rear Window, Arsenic and Lace, and His Girl Friday; (2) in terms of books: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison, The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil, Parzival as translated by Wolfram von Eschenbach, Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, and Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery; (3) in terms of artists: Michelangelo and Salvador Dali; (4) in terms of music: "Air on the G String" by Bach, "Starfulgar" by Sigur Ros, "I've Been Lovin' You Too Long" by Otis Redding, "Bridges and Balloons" by Joanna Newsome, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, "Crying" by Dolores Del Rio, "These Are Days" by Ten Thousand Maniacs, "Jackie's Strength" (Dance version) by Tori Amos, "Abraham, Martin and John" by Dion, "I Will" and "Sleep On" by Alison Kraus, "Gabriel's Oboe," "Miserere" and "Ave Maria Guarani" from the soundtrack of The Mission by Ennio Morricone, "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck Quartet, "Green Onions" by Booker T.
I am looking for
Less of a contradiction than myself since there can only be one really interesting person per relationship (Kid-ding). My someone will be intelligent, clever, funny, patient, independent, more a leader than a follower, but if a follower, then smart and good enough to follow a worthy leader, direct, genuine, somewhat adventurous, generous, willing to admit to imperfections and errors in judgment, caring, respectful, generous and compassionate beyond those he knows and loves. In addition, if you could teach me Muay Thai, I might actually fall in love with you. Edit: You don't have to be everything I've listed or everything that I think that I want. Sometimes we think we want what we don't actually end up needing. You just have to be brilliantly darling and strangely right for me.
