There is conflicting data about who is actually supporting the adult entertainment industry. How do you feel about this 57 billion dollar industry that is only getting bigger? The first time I watched a "flick" with someone it was the most informative and entertaining thing that I'd ever seen. The point of watching the "flick" was possibly lost on me, because I'm certain that the intent was to arouse and not to amuse me. You know what they say...Different strokes for different folks (no pun intended), right?

What I did learn may surprise you. I realized how much of a business "adult entertainment" is. Did you know that 12% of all websites are pornographic in nature? The $57 billion dollar is the worldwide figure. In the US the number is around $12 billion. That's more than the combined revenue of ABC, CBS and NBC. Here's the breakdown of how that money's spent:

  • Adult videos $20
  • Phone sex $4.5
  • Novelties $1.0
  • Escort services $11
  • Cable/Pay per view $2.5
  • Other $1.5
  • Magazines $7.5
  • Internet $2.5
  • Sex clubs $5
  • CD-Rom $1.5

The organization Morality in Media, Inc recently did a phone survey that showed that three out of four adults thought that viewing porn via (internet or video), was morally unacceptable. I don't know about you, but nobody called my house. Now, I don't want you to get the wrong impression about Leticia. Thinking that I'm some lose, morally corrupt, freak-nasty chick with a one-way ticket to hell in gasoline thongs.

It's just that I happen to think that as ADULTS, we are able to pay taxes, vote, go to war, think on our own, etc. etc. We should be able to decide for ourselves if we want to watch other CONSENTING ADULTS engage in ADULT activities. Why is okay for me to watch people kill each other by every sick perverted mutilating way possible? But, not be okay for me to watch two or three or four people making love to each other? No matter how bad the acting is.

Even though my views of the "right to watch" porn are quite liberal, how it makes me feel is a different story all together. The first time I caught my man hanging out in some porn chat room...I felt betrayed. It had less to do with the "sexual" stuff and more to do with the sneaking and hiding. Even though he never used his real name or showed his face on those naked butt shots (yeah, he went there). It still felt like he was trying to do dirt behind my back.

After many discussions about the subject and the discovery of a rather large photo collection on our computer, I told him what I was comfortable with and what was unacceptable to me. I learned how visual and material he was compared to the more expressive and analytical me. So, every now and then, when he's chilling in front of his own personal laptop with his private collection of pix and video's I'll shoot him an email with a cute little picture of my own and the subject line will read... "Here's one that YOU CAN TOUCH".

*Side Note: There is NO excuse for child pornography. However, it does exist. It is our responsibility to protect our children at all cost!! That's another article!

    A mind is a terrible thing to waste!!! I think it is totally hot when my gurl tells me that she wants to go to a gentleman's club when we are out on the town.     Now is porn a bad thing??? No, i dont think so. We are all grown adults, we should know from right and wrong. Watching porn with your mate is not a bad thing, Now, its up to us to be responible behind it to make sure young ones dont see it. alot of people take like its a bad thing, but the only thing they should do is also promote protection dont give people(young kids) that see it the wrong idea.

    for me, its more the other things.. adult movies to me lack true immagination.. to scripted. i like the intense emotions of anticipation and exploring my mind. lol. the movies dont do it for me and never have. but there are some that need that to get them going for me it just matters how i feel with that special someone because i dont need that kind of stuff.. lol. to get me started.

    Well Im not into porn magazines or movies, and definately against the chld porn. Porn is a type of voyuerism I'm just not into. but I also know the dirty side of it from my sisters best friends daughter, that got caught up in the forced life style she evntually died. Its a long story but similar to waytooo many other young womens stories about what goes on inthe porn industry.

    I've always been a kind of a live and let live gal around porn. However, that obviously excludes child porn or any other sort where people are hurt or exploited. Aside from that, I have two issues. First, professional porn actors are one thing, but the internet is now rife with young adults (young women AND men) with nothing but their looks to get by on who feel they have no choice but to keep doing these videos in order to support themselves. If I had my way, everyone would boycott these movies because of the awful exploitation, and stick with the porn made by professionals. The second issue I have is how porn viewing has changed men's sexual preferences and expectations compared to years past. They see this stuff in the videos over and over and over again, and then of course begin to crave it in life. My sex life was just fine--plenty skilled, hot, and racey--before the online porn explosion. Now it seems like a lot of men want to try stuff from the movies that's only done to make the film look good, but that doesn't do a thing for the woman.

    It depends on the person, just like everything else. What I would say is don't hold any ideals on what the person is like that looks at it, but try to picture what you would be like if it was you.

    I think, on a second note, many people do not know where the line between porn and educational videos lie. Though there is a very thin line, I do not believe that those that make educational videos have porn in their minds.

    I think it is fine between two adults in the privacy of their own home, locked up or hidden so the children in the house won't come across it. That is the only thing that worries me is that little eyes will be seeing something that they should never have to view. But as long as people are aware and cousious of that, and of course that it only contains adults, then its alright. When the videos are needed EVERYTIME you go to do the do.....then I think there is a problem!!!!

    Everything is good in moderation. I start to become concerned when someone is almost consumed by it. When it affects their daily life. I start to think there's an underlying problem. I also agree with the "sneaking around" aspect. Anytime a spouse consistently hides something from there partner there's a problem, but I'm all for porn. YEAH PORN!

    I don't mind porn at all, but for christ sakes, can they get some better looking men to do those movies already!!! Porn can be great way to spice up a relationship...though there are those times that it can get in the way and be harmful.     I watch adult movies and rather enjoy some of them. Adult movies can help keep that spark in your sex life. They can give you fresh new ideas for new fantasies. It can help you learn new ways to please your mate. 3 out of 4 people think that adult movies are morally wrong and should not be viewed. I would be willing to bet that 3 out of 4 people have seen an adult movie. I also agree that there is no tolerance for anyone subjecting a child to this type of environment. These are adult movies and not children movies.

    I love adult movies. I would not participate, but it isn't hurting anyone tha I watch because I do it in the privacy of my own home with my mate. I have no shame about it, and you never know...you might actually learn something by watching! I think more people watch and buy them...they are just afraid to admit it because of the taboo behind it.
