Solange Knowles Blasts the Grammys for Snubbing Beyoncé

Despite taking home her first Grammy for 'Cranes in the Sky' on Sunday night, Solange Knowles still had a few issues with the awards ceremony. And boy, did she voice them!

Solange’s main problem was that her sister, the one and only Beyoncé, failed to scoop the Album of the Year gong. (The award went to Adele, who remarkably also felt that Beyoncé was the deserved recipient.)

She took to Twitter to voice/rant about her feelings, and suggested that there is a lack of diversity at the Grammys, as they seem to favor white artists over black ones…

Your perfect partner could be online right now...

What are you looking for?

"There have only been two black winners in the last 20 years for album of the year," she wrote in one Tweet. "There have been over 200 black artist who have performed."

"Create your own committees, build your own institutions, give your friends awards, award yourself, and be the gold you wanna hold my g's.”

We have to point out that Solange’s calculations were a bit off, as Lauryn Hill, OutKast, Ray Charles, and Herbie Hancock have all won Album of the Year in the last 20 years. Just sayin’.

Do you share Solange’s opinion that black artists don’t get the same recognition at the Grammys as white artists? Let us know your thoughts!
