Should You Relocate if You Live in an Interracial Dating Desert?

The notion of moving for educational and career opportunities seems like a no-brainer to most people, but moving for more dating options? That's when folks seem to get a bit judgmental. Some believe that you should simply turn over every rock, look inside every crevice and kiss every frog in your vicinity and do it all over again before picking up and leaving. Why is it that we're supportive of people moving on to further their education and more opportunities in their vocation, but think it's "desperate" to leave for a romantic opportunity. PFFFT! Your romantic and intimate life should be just as important as your work life. Why have a lopsided life?

I recently addressed this question with a reader on a video blog. Take a listen!

The first white woman I was ever romantically involved with was an Italian-American woman originally from California. Ever since then, I've had a fondness for Cali women. Unfortunately, I live in Georgia. If living in California wasn't so expensive I'd relocate there in a heartbeat. And as a member of Afroromance, it seems like the women there are cool with IR and like black men. Oh well, maybe one of these days....

I definitely agree!! I currently live in the panhandle region of FL, often referred to as "lower Alabama". I've noticed white men here in the "seat of the civil rights" region of the country are NOT ready , willing or even of a mind to Swirl!!! I'm trying to get the heck outta town asap! Men on the west coast, east coast and up north have the desire & the swag we black ladies who swirl need !! Living in "redneck" country ain't no fun at all!!

I live in nigeria and swirling isnt a thing to be said in public. You dont want your relatives swearing at you. I have always wanted to date outside my race .all through my college years I never dated anyone because there was no intrest,no spark. By January, I would be going for my postgraduate program in canada and I hope to find someone interested in dating outside the normal.
