Release Date for "Loving" Film Set
Focus Features has set November 4th as the limited premier date for the interracial marriage drama film "Loving" ; expanding wide on November 11.
Directed by Jeff Nichols’, the true-life interracial marriage drama of Mildred and Richard Loving, an African-American woman and a white man who fell in love in the 1950s, will be played by Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton. The film will also star Michael Shannon.
Mildred and Richard are the couple behind the infamous and monumental 1967 court case of Loving v. Virginia. The couple were jailed and banished from their own home state, Virginia, because interracial marriage was outlawed at the time. The film captures their courage and commitment to their love and civil rights during this trying time. Their civil rights case finally got to be heard at the Supreme Court and the infamous ruling laid the foundation for the right to marry outside ones race.

Produced by Colin Firth the film was based on Emmy Award-winning documentary, The Loving Story by Nancy Buirski’s. The story of the Lovings has been an inspiration to many interracial couples.
