Radio DJ Shocked to Find Her Photos Used for Fake Profiles
A Radio DJ was horrified when she discovered that some off her photos were being used on various social media and online dating sites to create fake profiles. According to the various profiles, Emma Louise Jones, 26, is 'looking for fun'.
The fake profiles are also in made-up names and professions. On one, she is Anna who works at Morrisons. In another one on Tinder, she is a 22-year-old stewardess who just wants to date - "nothing serious".
What she doesn't know is whether the fake profiles have been created by one person or various individual. She is also worried about how far these people could be taking the deception. As reported on the Daily Mail , Jones said:
Your perfect partner could be online right now...
What are you looking for?
"What kind of bizarre person thinks 'oh what I will do is I will pretend to be somebody else on a profile and try to get a date with people' because that person is never going to turn up, so where are they going to take it? How far are they going to go with it?
You don't know if it is a random person who does this daily to lots of different people or if it somebody who has a vendetta against you."
Much as she has tried to take precautions by making her Facebook profile more private, she says its hard to draw attention to some of these fake profiles.
This is not the first time this has happened to her. Initially, she laughed it off. But when she came across the third profile, that made her a little concerned, wondering what these individuals could be saying to people they came in contact with online.
She has no idea how many more of these profiles are circulating out there. However Jones is glad that her friends made it a point of messaging her when they stumble across them.
