"Nobody should feel like that's realistic" - Chrissy Teigen on the pressure for new mums to get back into shape
If there’s one word to describe Chrissy Teigen, it’s outspoken. But in the best way possible.
John Legend’s gorgeous wife has opened up about the pressures new mums face to get back into shape after giving birth. And she wants everyone to know that what they see in the fashion glossies and on the TV isn’t exactly what it seems…
“Anyone in the public eye, we have all the help we could ever need to be able to shed anything,” she said while appearing on ‘The Today Show’. “So I think people get this jaded sensation that everybody's losing it so quickly, but we just happen to be out there.”

In other words, celebs have all the help in the world to get their pre-baby body back as quickly as possible. And the average mum who isn’t the public eye shouldn’t give herself a hard time for not reaching what is an essentially an unrealistic goal.
This subject is very close to Chrissy’s heart, as she continued to talk about it on her Tumblr page.
“We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that's normal, or like that's realistic.
I think a lot of the mood stuff that happens afterwards isn't really talked about. Whether it's postpartum depression, or, for me, some days I wouldn't know how to cope with work and juggle things.
There were periods where you get super dark.”
We bet every single new mum or mum-to-be is grateful to Chrissy Teigen for putting this out there.
We need more Chrissy Teigens in this world.
