MWAAAAAAAAAHHHHH !!! Kisses all over… Trust me, this aint no normal make out session. It’s what mixed race couples plan on doing when Jared Taylor – the notorious racist masquerading as a ‘race relations expert’ – comes to Halifax. No heckling as it is for most protests… It’s a different kind of protest – making out protest LOL!!! One idea being discussed on the online forum Halifax Locals is to stage an "interracial make-out party." Now this will be something.

Taylor who argues that multiculturalism should be avoided, that races shouldn’t mix, because that causes conflict and hostility is scheduled to appear at a debate with philosophy professor Peter March at Saint Mary’s University on March 7.

"I think the key here is to marginalize this man through humor and intelligence . . . just go out of our way to reinforce the fact that this guy’s anti-intellectual arguments are stupid and his supporters are out of touch with reality," one poster writes.

Having been shouted down and manhandled out of a room he rented when he tried to speak in Halifax in January, this is what Taylor, the man, who calls himself a "race realist," had to say "I hope they enjoy themselves. If they’re busily making out, I assume they won’t be screaming and beating on pots and pans at the same time, which would be a refreshing change from the last time." He intends to argue Wednesday that racial diversity is a societal weakness that leads to conflict.

But Mr. March said a physical demonstration of the enjoyment people with different skin colours find in each other, such as the proposed make-out party, would be a striking image to undermine Mr. Taylor’s position. Asked if he would consider joining the party, Mr March said, "I’m going to come with my pockets just full of Viagra." :lol:

While I applaud the organizer's unique form of peaceful protest - I think we would all be better off by ignoring these people. Anything else just draws added media attention to this idiots. I remember a while back a small town in Tennessee (Pulaski,TN I think) known as the birthplace of the KKK was worried about a large turn out of klan members coming to town to celebrate some klan anniversary. Since most of the people in this town are repulsed and ashamed of any association with the klan they decided to have a peaceful protest of their own. Unlike in other places where a handful of mindless bigots gather to spew their hatred and ignorance, and are quickly surrounded, outnumbered and drowned out by protesters, the people in this town took a different approach. All the businesses and homes along the parade route and in other parts of the town, closed their windows and doors and tied a big yellow ribbon as a symbol of peace outside their front doors. So when the press came to cover this "event" all they found was a quiet, dignified and peaceful group of individuals who simply turned their backs on the klan and ignored their messages of hate. There was no noise, no commotion and no confrontations, but the message was clear. The klan was not welcome, wanted or noticed and their attempts to "celebrate" their cause failed miserably. I'm not against demonstrations like the one planned in Halifax, it seems like a really unique and novel way of protesting, but I worry that such displays provide wide spread news coverage that such fringe groups would not otherwise get and I think that's a big part of the reason they go out of their way to publicize such events. By showing up and acknowledging them in any way at all, aren't we just giving them the attention they so desperately crave? Just a thought. . .
