Justin Timberlake has seriously broken the law!
Uh oh – looks like Justin Timberlake has broken the law in a big way!
While voting early, JT posted a selfie in the polling booth on Instagram, in a bid to encourage all his fans to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote," he wrote.
Your perfect partner could be online right now...
What are you looking for?
"There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #exerciseyourrighttovote."
All well and good, one might think. However, taking photographs inside the polling booth is a serious offence in many states (hands up if you didn’t actually know this…), including his home state of Tennessee. Does this mean the ‘Sexy Back’ singer is heading to the big house?
Well, not quite. Although the charge for breaking this law includes 30 days in jail or a fine of up to $50, JT is actually being let off the hook because no official complaint was filed. Phew!
Let this be a lesson to all you social-media-savvy voters. Leave the cell phones at home when casting your votes and focus on the task at hand.
And while the selfie didn’t show who Justin cast his vote for, we would bet good money that he checked the Hilary Clinton box, seeing as he and wife Jessica Biel were among the many famous faces at the Hilary Clinton fundraiser a few months ago.
