Its actually a very juvenile argument to ask "why" someone likes something. It is like asking a tween (a pre-teenage child) why he/she likes watching GLEE instead of HOUSE OF PAYNE. Now, this tween may be black and should be able to relate to House of Payne more than GLEE, but it is Her/His choice! Again, it is his/her choice. Their choice should be none of anyone's business. I think sometimes, we need to just mind our own business. Who other people date is none of anyone else's business.
