Donald Trump and Stacey Dash on Oscars boycott threats
Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee have threatened to boycott the Oscar Academy Awards which are to be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Their reasons being: Lack of minority representation in the list of nominees this year. This also happened last year. All nominees were white and all minorities get from such awards are honorary awards.
The thing is, African Americans have "their" Black Entertainment Television (BET) awards which largely recognizes and rewards Blacks. And as presidential hopeful, Donald Trump pointed out while voicing his opinion on Oscars boycott threats , "The whites don't get any nominations..." Stacey Dash, who is in fact a minority, also commented about the BET on Fox & Friends for giving their awards mainly to Black people saying:
"I think it's ludicrous, because we have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It's a double standard."

Trump also added in respect to the Oscars:
"I mean, I’ve watched over the years where African Americans have in fact received Academy Awards and have in fact been represented. And this is not one of those years, but over the years I’ve seen numerous black actors and African American actors receive awards and I think that’s great. This doesn’t happen to be one of those years. … It's a difficult situation."
I think both of them have points which really make sense. Questions:
Should minority actors just accept that they just never made the cut two years in a row?
