Beyonce leads NAACP Image Awards with 7 nominations

Posted by Norcalmike77, 15 Dec 16

The nominees for the 48th NAACP Image Awards have just been announced, and just like the Grammys, Beyonce is well and truly on fire!

The ‘Lemonade’ singer has a grand total of seven nominations for the awards hosted by the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People, while her sister Solange isn’t far behind with a pretty impressive five. Their mother must be beaming from ear to ear, full of pride!

The ‘Outstanding Female Artist’ category should be interesting, as the Knowles sisters are also up against Alicia Keys, Fantasia, and K. Michelle, so the competition really is stiff.

What are you looking for?

We really commend these awards for so many different reasons. As well as the obvious, we love the NAACP Image Awards for the broad spectrum of recognition across all media platforms, and this year is no exception.

Although these awards are a great place for lesser known artists and actors, this year’s nominations really seem to have included everyone, regardless of their fame or success. It’s definitely going to be a good show, that’s for sure.

The 2017 NAACP Image Awards will be hosted by Anthony Anderson, who is also up for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for ‘Black-ish’.

You can catch the awards live on TV One on February 11 2017. We don’t know who your money is on, but we think Beyonce might just clean up in the majority of her categories. What say you?
