A future with your new catch

Posted by Ria, 07 Mar

We all desire to meet someone. We all dream about falling in love. Most of us think about happily ever after even before meeting the man or woman that makes you tick.

A few years ago, if you would have asked me whether I wanted to get married, a big NO would have accompanied the question. Much as I always wanted to meet the one, I always pictured the perfect romance to be one where me and my better half live with each other, being there for one another till old age without having to legalize the whole thing. I preferred it to remain romantic as opposed to legal.

Anyhow, most people, especially young girls have a perfect picture of their weddings as they grow up.

When you go on a first date with someone and you suddenly click, do you fantasize them as your groom or bride? Do you start playing that perfect wedding on your first perfect date? Does it hurt to be this hopeless fantasy world romantic?

First date hmmmmmm. Well when i go on a first and if I had a good time. I afterwards am thinking of is there a futuer with this person or is it gonna be a good friendship. Now I must admit if the date goes well there might be a lil tease to my cerabellum sayin "what if........." , but then i kinda smile to myself and say "it's just a first date" I do admit I am a hopeless romantic and yes I do engage into thought of wedding bliss, but it's never of the person Im on the first with.

Hey There Everyone! Sometimes I tend to fantasize especially if it went really well! But, I also catch myself and pay attention to how I interact with the person over a period of time. Interaction is the most significant thing now and will be forever. Sometimes because of the butterflies, we tend to ignore conflict until later. The question we want to be concerned about is how "me and this other person address conflict." Conflict is not bad - its actually important. Does conflict end or enhance once it arises? Note to all the people REALLY lookin: Pay attention to your interaction for 3-6 dates and look for patterns.

I admit, if the date goes really great, I may tend to get carried away. Fanticizin' doesn't hurt anyone !

I agree completely HereIamBaby. Just enjoy the moment - that is, if you're date isn't a total loser or something.

It's awesome when you find someone you click with on a first date... but planning the wedding before the second date, I personally find a bit extreme, but I can't pass judgement on others. I am sure there have been people who instinctively knew that this was the person they wanted to spend the rest of their life with after the first date and if I should ever meet someone that made me feel that way, I'm not sure what I would do...maybe call the wedding planner or a therapist????

If its a free meal then call it that.If its a "date" you should see some sort of potential before you even go.But thinkin to the extreme is Fatal Attraction or obsessive or just plain crazy.

No, when I go out on a first date with someone it's just a date. No long range planning involved.
