I was going through various interracial dating articles the other day and I bumped into this comment. My first reaction was WTF! Are we ever going to get past black and white dating? Are we ever going to let Black-White interracial couples just be? Well this I had to share:

“I feel that interracial dating among minorities is fine, such as Black and Asian, or any other person of color. My problem with white and black dating is the history and also the way Black people are treated by White America still today. I believe the only reason Whites want to date Black people is to further divide our families and our communities, love has nothing to do with it. When Black men and women stood together, our communities were stronger, our children were better off as a whole and economically our communities were more vital. Please don’t be fooled by White people’s trickery anymore. And furthermore, in America there has always been interracial dating. This time Black women are not being taken behind the wood shed, they are making the decision to be with White men. How can sleeping with the enemy be beneficial to any person of color? … The majority of White people in this country are still racist, even the ones who date outside of their race. Talk to some of the people who have married Whites, especially the White women are the most racist of them all. She hates Black women and loves the Black man?”

Since this person is saying black-black dating made the black communities stronger, I believe he or she also means dating Whites makes the communities weaker. And if this person is for interracial dating within minorities, how does that make the Black community any stronger? I thought interracial dating is interracial dating. The composition doesn’t matter. Should we really be dragged behind by the history of slavery? uuuuuuughhhhhhh!!! Snap out of it!

Today, while walking on the streets minding by own business – or not – a black woman walked by hand in hand with this white guy. Cute interracial couple I thought – up until my thoughts were rudely interrupted by some hot black guys comment. “This is the height of all mothers of confusion. Have you seen that dark chick with the white dude? She is so black. We blacks are racists … against our own.�

I got to wonder who those accusations were being directed to. Her for dating a white guy? Well I think more towards him for ridiculing a black woman glowing in interracial love.

Interracial dating being confusion? This is a first.

Even science can’t say exactly.

Scientists at the borders of research on the most eternal question of what women find erotic, came up with the latest answer – NOT naked guys … at least not simply naked guys.

According to Meredith Chivers in her new documentary ‘Bi the Way’ about bisexuality, “… looking at a naked man walking on the beach is about as exciting as looking at landscapes.â€? In the study she showed people video clips of naked men and women in various sexual and non sexual situations and measured their genital arousal. And the results were quite shocking.

Heterosexual women were no more excited by athletic naked men doing yoga than they were by the control clip – long pans of snow capped Himalayas. . Here comes the twist … When straight women viewed a video clip of a naked woman doing aerobics, blood flow increased radically.

For women, it’s not about the gender … it’s about sensuality. And what aroused them more than videos of naked people exercising, were videos of masturbation and better still, by graphic videos of couples making passionate love. Women on women, men on men, men on women … it really didn’t seem to matter to her female subjects, Dr. Chivers said.

This research kinda places female sexuality along a continuum between heterosexuality and homosexuality, rather than an either-or phenomenon.

Women are quite complex I guess. Lisa Diamond, a researcher at University of Utah published a study in January in the journal of Developmental Psychology that followed the love lives of 79 non-heterosexual women (lesbians and bisexual) and over 10 years Dr. Diamond found the women continued to be attracted to both sexes.

Well the response to videos of sex seem to extend to other species, Dr. Chivers found. Women were slightly but significantly aroused by a footage of bonobo chimps mating. And when subjects were asked to rate their own arousal to the video clips watched, the women, gay or straight, tended to give a higher rating to films that showed women.

Why are women so turned on by watching other women? Science can’t say exactly. Can you?

Looking at Whites in interracial relationships, why do you think there are 10 times more White women dating men of other races than White men dating other races of women?

Is it just a coincidence, personality and has nothing to do with color?

Do men of other races see white women as the most beautiful women and therefore have all races chasing after them; or vice versa in the case of White men?

Are White women more open-minded about interracial dating than White men?

A Berlin interracial couple got their interracial twins with different shades of skin color. One of the boys born on July 11 has dark skin and the other has light skin. Coming from two mono-racial parents, German father, Stephan Gerth and Ghanaian mother, Florence Addo-Gerth, this was quite a surprise for everyone even the ward’s head doctor, Birgit Weber. “It is very unusual for twins to be born with different skin color,” Weber said. “It’s the first time for our clinic.”

Welcoming twins into this world is always a momentous event. But this set of black and white twins really caused a sensation last week at the Sana Hospital in Lichtenberg, Germany, with guests trickling to meet the pair. And much as the couple was surprised by the black and white set of twins, Stephan was happy that they were both healthy.

Much as the odds of this happening are one in a million, it has happened before and genetic experts attribute this to the roll of the DNA die which may cause the baby of biracial parents to inherit only the genetic coding for one color. In 2005, British couple both born to mixed-race parents, had twin girls – one is blond and fair-skinned and the other one is dark skinned. And stranger things have happened. In 2006, Kerry Richardson, who is of Nigerian and English descent, and her partner, who is white, gave birth to twins who were both light-skinned at birth. But as they got older, one got darker while the other got lighter.

Florence, the mother said it took a while to process the event. “I imagine sitting at a playground where the other mothers will call me crazy when I tell them the boys are twins,” she said. What mother wouldn’t worry about that? Well, good thing is she has accepted her twins saying, “God has decided that my children should have different skin colors.”

Well, there seems to be a greater force speaking out against racism. And its good that the couple have kids who represent the different races and colors. And to be real brothers, color shouldn’t matter.

Well hopefully, society will accept both children as equals and not subject them to hate as it has happened in some cases. Hope they won’t have to endure what Halle Berry did (”I was black growing up in an all-white neighborhood, so I felt like I just didn’t fit in. Like I wasn’t as good as everybody else, or as smart, or whatever.” - Halle).

But just for the sake of discussion, how will the couple cope with having to explain to one of the twins why he wasn’t invited for certain parties based on skin color or why they have to go to different schools?

I believe in online dating. And I believe that you can find true love online. I believe that online romance can be just as good as the real thing. But this one caught me off-guard.

A few months ago, married man met woman online. He lives in New York and her in Boston. But this isn’t an ordinary story of a married man trying to get some online … oh no! He has a 15 year old son and is still married to an incapacitated wife. She was in an accident 12 years ago and is in a coma – she can’t do sh**! The dude is now in love with this online cuttie and is not sure if he can divorce his comatose wife especially, because of his son. Whatever happened to ’till death’

On the other hand, this online hottie feels the dude is paying too much attention to his ‘lifeless’ wife (her words not mine) out of pity than to her. And she has tried to convince the man to divorce her but continue supporting her financially.

It’s not about the man’s looks … it’s his riches study says.

If a man wants to settle down, it’s important to be rich, according to a pioneering study of the “marriage market” by psychologists. Much as there have been earlier studies suggesting that women are drawn to men of high status, power and wealth, rather than just looks, this new study proves it all … with evidence.

After surveying more than 20,000 American men, based on historical data from the turn of the last century, when the supply of men goes down – say like during of the First World War, women settled with poorer partners of lesser social sway. But when supply is high, they get choosy, driving a hard bargain for the richest and most powerful men, hence immensely reducing marriage prospects of the male pauper. Its all about market value.

So as the supply of men increased, the effect of wealth and power on the probability of marriage became stronger. “This means that the effects of a male-biased sex ratio fell disproportionately on low-status men, whose probability of marriage was drastically reduced,” said Thomas Pollet in his journal Biology Letters.

The work confirms a prediction made by Frank Pedersen of the University of Delaware in 1991 that the sex ratio has a big impact on the marriage market.

“These questions are ripe for future investigation, but our study has clearly established the more limited fact that sex ratio fluctuations in modern humans can put one sex in the driving seat and allow them to drive a hard bargain.”

Well, we also see men looking for cougars with money. Is it a change in lifestyle or market forces in play? Do riches determine ones marital status these days?

Where is the time for sex after 14 years of marriage, with kids and leading careers? Well this happens to most married couples and Douglas and Annie Brown no exception. And in order to give their marriage a jolt they opted to have lots and lots of sex.Here is an excerpt from “Just Do It: How One Couple Turned Off the TV and Turned On Their Sex Lives for 101 Days (No Excuses!).”

Well it all started when Doug had gone for a conference where some guy from Denmark talked about how men who are involved in relationships but haven’t had sex in 100 or more days actually bond over their sad predicaments.

After dropping those bundles of joy and having a career, it’s like those two things become the BOSS of your sex life. They come first and sex becomes the last thing on your mind. It becomes a question of “How do I squeeze in sex?�

“I’ve got an idea,� Annie said. “Why don’t we start our own club, only we’ll reverse it? Instead of not having sex for 100 days� ― here come those tantalizing seven words ― “let’s have sex for 100 consecutive days.� (Now this a club I would definitely join)

That was Doug’s most exciting day … every man’s dream. Much as it is insane, I wonder what concoction I will give my chick just to hear those seven words. Insane? Yeah!

Does your spouse have a habit of disappearing from your relationship when you need them most? Do they spend weekends away, not because they are busy at work, but coz they are out drinking or having fun with friends?

Sometimes you may realize that the last time you two sat and talked was … you-cant-remember. Relationship research says a large percentage of young marriages suffer from spousal absenteeism. They have no idea what sharing a life with someone is. So what leads to this?

Alcohol abuse is one of them. If this is the reason, you need to solve the primary problem first. Rehab is the first solution, if you get them to go that is.

Poor communication is the other issue. And with poor communication comes poor understanding of spousal needs. Try to improve communication in your marriage at all times. Assess how to communicate with each other; is the level of communication sufficient? Try adopting a style that makes the other party feel understood, loved and appreciated.

Two out of five absentee spouses admit to having an affair and this needs one to commit their time. There are very many reasons behind extra-marital affairs. Before you zero in this as the cause of your spouse’s absenteeism, find out why and seek counseling – if you have it in you to forgive their cheating a**.

Chronic arguments at home makes some people run away just to avoid them. Much as arguments will always be a part of a relationship, how you choose to resolve them is what makes or breaks a marriage. Avoid getting hooked on to the never-ending arguments. Politely request a time out whenever you feel you are getting sucked into such and resume it when you feel balanced enough to handle it.

Overcrowded homes – the relatives – could put your spouse off. When your house is ever present with visitors, the privacy you and your partner require is compromised. Limit the number of people staying over. Better yet, rent a place for them to stay as you try to assist them.

Always remember, your spouse’s absenteeism is a secondary problem rather than a primary one. And in order to effectively minimize the problem, you will have to deal with the reason behind the absenteeism first. Cross your fingers it isn’t an affair coz for me, it will mean complete absence. I don’t forgive cheating spouses … but then again, that’s just me.
