How would you describe yourself?
I'm a woman with a wide variety of interests ranging from the intellectual and nerdy, to the outdoors, to the "upscale (theater, symphony, etc.)," to the just fun (I love to go out dancing). I love to debate and discuss issues (politely and respectfully) and to hear what makes people tick. I am happy either indoors (with a pile of books) or out on the town. I am mild-mannered, open-minded, loving, affectionate, supportive, and forgiving, and I love to be able to laugh with people and simply enjoy good company. I believe in lifting people up and standing behind them, and I find great joy in those things that I can do for those I am close to.
I am looking for
At the moment, I am looking for the kind of person that I can talk to, trust, and share things with. Since I do happen to have 2 sons, I am looking for someone strong and morally upstanding, respectful, and loving. I prefer not to list out a checklist of "traits," because men are not interview candidates, and what you put on your list may not always be best for you. The obvious things: morality, responsibility, honesty, loyalty, consideration, and caring are certainly the kinds of things that I look for. Other than that, a sense of humor is quite key to producing some level of chemistry -- the ability to still play a bit, even while being responsible. I'd like to see the knowledge that life will always bring ups and downs and that the trick is to take both and let them enrich you. I'd like to see someone who can actually fail at something, but who can stand tall and learn from it without it shredding him. Forgiveness and understanding are good things, and, of course, if we can resolve disagreements with honesty, respect, and sensitivity, at whatever level we may choose to interact, that is the foundation for something stronger.
