How would you describe yourself?
Hi there! It's very nice to meet you. My name is Lawrence and I'm a divorced father of two. I enjoy watching sports, being active in mental health advocacy and philanthropy, and spending time with friends. I'm also a published author. Obviously- working on a novel seems pretty daunting, but since writing is only one of my passions, I have learned how to balance it with the many aspects of my life. I hope you'll find all this interesting enough- if so, drop me a line.
So, I want to address one thing that seems to be a stumbling block for some ladies. I am indeed an atheist, but I am not one of those types the believes that I am right and religious people are wrong. I am not trying to convert anyone or change their approach to spirituality. I respect everyone's beliefs and am of the opinion that if you feel a connection to something that moves you towards goodness, then it is healthy and right. But, if you use the teachings of your religion as a way to judge others or advance the idea that someone else is bad or wrong for not believing as you do, I have a serious problem with that.
My beliefs took 46 years to come to. They are the result of careful thought and deep contemplation. My experiences led me here. I was raised Jewish and still consider myself culturally Jewish. I respect others beliefs and will defend everyone's right to follow whatever guidance works best for them. That having been said- I would prefer it if America would keep religion out of our schools, public places and government.
I am looking for
My life has taken so many twists and turns! At this point, I have become very comfortable with who I am and want someone that feels the same way about themselves. I believe that life is much too short to worry about race, color, religion and all the tensions that go with that. I want to meet someone that is comfortable with that. Someone for whom friendship, companionship, even love is blind and truly comes from the heart.
