How would you describe yourself?
Free-spirited, physically-fit man (6'0", 180 lbs) with a full head (and short beard) of salt-and-pepper hair. Calm, confident and peaceful, with an easy laugh, but quite capable of defending myself when it comes to that. Highly ethical, based on a lifetime's conglomeration of logic, reason, and various philosophies and religions. I'm playful and I like to party, but always responsibly. I never smoke tobacco, although it doesn't bother me if others do. Interests range from alpine skiing to Dr King, from hiking to Shakespeare, from Tolkien to porn, from Buckethead to politics, from football to Gandhi, from Black Sabbath to Buddhism, and etc. I disdain materialism - doing and being are much more important to me than getting and having. For work, I'm an accountant for a non-profit.
I am looking for
A slender, adventurous, open-minded woman who can tolerate my "uniqueness". Someone who likes dancing to live music, a play, a hike in the forest, skiing at Tahoe, a weekend in San Diego, Phoenix or the mountains north of Calistoga, or is happy just watching a football game, drinking bloody marys (my specialty) and blowing smoke rings.
While I appreciate the interest from women outside the San Francisco Bay Area, I'm really looking for someone in San Francisco (where I work), Oakland (where I live), or anyplace else in the Bay Area close to BART (I kicked my gasoline addiction 11 years ago, and have no intention of going back). I've been through a couple of long distance relationships before in my life, and just don't feel like going through those difficulties again.
Although I don't want to have any children of my own, it's fine if you already have children. (Preferably older children who can pretty much look after themselves, and don't need constant attention and supervision.)
